Verb
1) Все глаголы делятся на вспомогательные (Auxiliary verbs) и основные (или смысловые). Основные глаголы (Main verbs) имеют самостоятельное смысловое значение и могут употребляться в предложении в качестве сказуемого.

Do you like music? — Вы любите музыку? (like является основным глаголом, а do в данном предложении употреблен как вспомогательный глагол)

2) В английском языке 15 вспомогательных глаголов (Auxiliary verbs): be, will, can, could, may, might, shall, ought (to), must, have, would, should, need, dare, do. Все остальные английские глаголы являются основными (например, come, make, hear).
3) Глаголы be, have, do могут выступать в предложениях как в качестве основных, так и в качестве вспомогательных.

He has seen her sister — Он видел ее сестру (глагол have выступает в качестве вспомогательного глагола).

He has a sister — У него есть сестра (глагол have выступает в качестве основного глагола)

4) Глаголы need и dare могут выступать как в качестве модальных вспомогательных (Modal verbs), так и в качестве основных глаголов.
